Shipwreck Coast

The name chosen by the local tourism authority some years ago does not really do justice this section of the Victorian coast. Flanked by some of Australia's best agricultural land, the coast features delightful sandy beaches, dramatic scenery and interesting history. The sea and surf that wrecked ships over 150 years ago are now the attraction and towns and cities along this section of the coast have become the most popular visitor destinations in the state. Our guide will give you an insiders view of this section of the Ocean Road.

The Ocean Road Tour Options

Melbourne to Adelaide - Adelaide to Melbourne Touring Route

The trip between these two major cities is one of the most popular trips made by international visitors, as it offers a great diversity of scenery, and landscapes as well as taking in some of Australia's most iconic attractions.

The total length of the journey is between 700 and 800 kilometres (depending on the chosen route) which means the trip can be easily done within three days without stress and average driving distances kept to around 250 kilometre per day.

The Ocean Road web site does not have every night and stop pre-planned, it is just a comprehensive guide to accommodation, entertainment, sightseeing and food guide to the many alternate ways of holidaying along this part of Australia's coastline.
